Key Stage 2

At this stage, pupils' Musical Learning Journey snow-balls even faster! Still beautifully showcased within WAU Topics which relate to KS2 children, TTTB units enable pupils to develop greater vocal and instrumental control. They learn how pulse, tempo, dynamics, pitch, rhythm, timbre and texture can be manipulated to create musical structure, feeling and purpose.

With a deeper understanding of the musical elements, performances become more confident, compositions more intricate and there is a more mature response to both their own and other’s music-making.

Carefully chosen stories within each unit showcase how TTTB at KS2 continues to provide natural links to other essential Curriculum areas such as Literacy, Drama and PDMU. Numeracy also comes to the fore as pupils explore notation and rhythm duration in greater detail.

Not only this, but TTTB units encourage KS2 pupils to explore the place of Music within local and global cultures and thus its unique potential to foster self-expression, emotional awareness, and collaboration through shared activities.
