Foundation Stage Music, packaged within popular NI Topics such as ‘The Seasons’ and ‘Rhyming Land’ seeks to consolidate phoneme awareness building and pre-reading strategies. With ‘pulse’ (finding and keeping a ‘steady beat’) as the order of the day, units seek to practice counting skills and promote the fact that Music and Literacy use the same learning pathway. Not only this, but lessons are designed to enhance attention and listening, whilst at the same time being movement-friendly and enhancing other elements of the NI Curriculum such as PDMU, Drama and of course PDMU.
